HPIC Y. Michelle Dowleyne's dedication to service, critical thinking, and fostering strategic collaborative efforts are always on her mind when initiating new organizational partnerships. In 2016, HPIC Dowleyne was recognized as a Trailblazer Award Nominee, receiving the Charles County Women's Commission Award for her work as a CEO and her impact on uplifting women in the community. In response to her demonstrated commitment to her community, 2016 she was presented with the Ernestine H. Buck Award. As the Most Royal Grand Commandress in 2017, she developed, chartered, and welcomed over 20 new Royal Sisters and Chief Engineers to a new court of the Most Royal Grand Court of Cyrene in the Jurisdiction of Maryland.
HPIC Dowleyne was selected as the Illustrious Commandress of The Year in 2017. During her tenure, Tuwa Court created 19 candidates, then under dispensation, Salah Al Din Court No. 230, and conducted courtesy degree work for Kamal Court No. 222, St. Thomas, Virgin Islands, initiating four new Daughters.
LEADERSHIP:
HPIC Y. Michelle Dowleyne was one of only five Daughters entrusted with leading a Joint Department. As a result, she is currently serving as the first female Director of the Joint Military and Veterans Affairs Department. Under her leadership, the department held the First Joint Military Wreath Laying Ceremony at Arlington National Cemetery in Arlington, Virginia, with over 120 Nobles and Daughters present.
CHANGE AGENT:
HPIC Y. Michelle Dowleyne is the Founder and CEO of a 501c3 nonprofit, Her Story is My Story Inc., a Women's Empowerment organization. She is a two-time Best-Selling Author and an Author Coach, mentoring over 23 men and women to become first-time Authors. HPIC Dowleyne also serves as an Elected Official on St. Mary’s County Democratic Central Committee, where she serves as the Secretary. She is a powerhouse and change agent in her community. She believes that service to others is necessary and that leadership and strategic planning are the way forward. Her strategic planning is a testament to her leadership and will guide us into a brighter future. Demonstrating that point, she is an appointed official by the Governor of Maryland and approved by the State Senate as a Commissioner on the Maryland Veterans Home Commission.
