Dt. Kimberly Johnson
As we stand on the precipice of a new year, I am filled with a profound sense of both anticipation and responsibility. The opportunity to lead this Court into the ensuing year is a privilege that I do not take lightly.
Over the past year, we have navigated challenges with resilience, embraced innovation with enthusiasm, and celebrated successes together. Our collective efforts have solidified our position as a leading force in The Imperial Court Daughters– a constituent court - an auxiliary of the A.E.A.O.N.M.S., Inc. For the year ahead, I envision a future where we:
Elevate Innovation: We will foster a culture of creativity and risk-taking, encouraging groundbreaking ideas that drive our organization forward.
Strengthen Collaboration: By breaking down silos and fostering open communication, we will harness the power of diverse perspectives to
achieve extraordinary results. Prioritize People: Our people are our greatest asset. We will invest in their growth, well-being, and professional development, empowering them to reach their full potential. Embrace Sustainability: We will commit to sustainable practices that minimize our environmental impact and contribute to a greener future. Build Strong Partnerships: We will strengthen our relationships with clients, suppliers, and community partners, forging lasting bonds based on trust and mutual respect. To realize this vision, I urge each of you to:
Embrace Change: Be open to new ideas and adapt to evolving circumstances.
Take Ownership: Take pride in your work and strive for excellence in everything you do.
Support One Another: Lift each other up, celebrate successes, and learn from setbacks.
We will commit to the five events (Joint Blessing, Black Oscars Event, Wine & Jazz Event, LT’s Dance, Holiday Party, and a Joint Ball. As we accept, our annual audit and budget will guide us through 2025. We will continue community service and involvement with our newly adopted Boys & Girls Club of Fort Washington. Also, continue to serve with gratitude the Our Place Waldorf, etc.
I know this seems a lot, but we will Keep Encouraging, Motivating, Engaging Together. That's a great motto! It's a reminder to be supportive and positive, especially during challenging times. We couldn’t prosper without my mentor and advisor from the Class of 2K9 (MISR) and our associate members who play a key role in holding Kemet Court together.
Thank you.
We are KEMET.

The word Kemet has a strong and proud connotation. Kemet was the ancient name for Egypt, given by the indigenous inhabitant of the land. The name literally translates to “Black Land”.
The evolution of establishing a court in the Oasis of Waldorf, Desert of Maryland began with a phone call from the Inaugural Illustrious Potentate for Kemet Temple on December 12, 2020, to the 44th Imperial Potentate John D. Chapman (1) expressing the interest of Kemet Temple No. 263 to sponsor a court for the women of Southern Maryland. Imperial Commandress Jacqueline Brown-Arradondo (123) provided approval for a court to establish to work with Kemet emple.
Dt. Michelle Lilly accepted the task to assemble a group of finer women to create and establish Kemet Court. On March 20, 2020, at Maryland’s Desert Conference, Kemet Court No 237 was provided a charter from Imperial Commandress Jacqueline Brown-Arradondo officially chartering and establishing Kemet Court No. 237, Oasis of Waldorf, and Desert of Maryland with the Following chartered members:
